Drom Bramberg (Sudtirol), take the Habach valley to the Alpenrose chalet. From there, climb the dejection cone and follow the little path that climb along the torrent. After one hour of walk, go inside the torrent (down from the path).

You can find numerous pyrites in matrix, actinolite, and the famous Habachtal emerald specimens.

To find them, two methods can be used : the first one consists in breaking a maximum of micashist blocks before examining them. The second method consists in washing the sand to localize the isolated emerald cristals. The first method seems ti be more useful, if you know well the matrix and are able to choose the good blocks…

At least, you HAVE to find something if you stay more of one hour here ! Don’t hesitate to visit the Steiner family in Bramberg (they are exploiting the mine…), and the Bramberg museum.
